Father's Day 2010

For Father's Day this year, we all went to Hoboken and had lunch at Trinity. It was yummy and everyone had a great time!

Caleb and Aunt Ruchey (we're still getting used to calling her that!)

Mr. Daredevil...on Uncle Sean's shoulders and covering his eyes.

Mr. Happy now that he has Nana's brush to play with.

Opening presents with Papa...

Uncle Superman...

The Perkins Men...

And the Perkins Boys, too...

Caleb's Gymnastics Graduation...

Caleb got a gymnastics trophy on June 16th. It's his first trophy ever and we're all very proud! Of course, it's a gymnastics class for three year olds so everyone got one, but we're still very proud!

In gymnastics class before the trophy ceremony...

Waiting his turn to go up on stage to get his trophy. He has no idea what's going on or even what a trophy really is...

Waiting...

Finally, a trophy. He doesn't know what it's for or what to do with it but he likes it because it's shiny!

See? Shiny!!!

Max's Birthday Party

We really made the birthday party circuit this year. Caleb's classmates all had great bday parties and Caleb had fun at each and every one.

Caleb with Max and Max...

Mmmm...Icing. Caleb hardly ever eats the cupcake. Just the icing.

Micah doesn't care...he'll eat whatever.

At the Farm...

On June 3rd, the boys and I went to the farm to go strawberry picking. They had a great time hanging out with the animals, climbing the haystack and running in the fields. The actual strawberry picking wasn't such a hit because we had to walk far in the heat. On the way out to the field, I put them in a cart and pulled them but while we were picking the berries, someone took our cart and they had to walk back, complaining the whole time. Who would think that, with his limited vocabulary, Micah would find so many ways to complain about being hot and tired? When he sees the pictures, Caleb doesn't refer to that day as the day we went strawberry picking. He says, "Hey, that's the day someone took our wagon!"

They kind of liked picking the strawberries, but wanted to eat them all on the spot. I don't blame them but it wasn't too much fun watching the two of them constantly to make sure they didn't put them in their mouths. It's much harder than you'd think because they are little, were wearing hats and were bending down to pick them. Unless I laid down on the ground face up, there was no way to really see if their little jaws were moving or not!

Checking out the cows. I think he told the cow joke about 7-8 times while we were standing there.
Caleb: What does a cow do for fun?
Me: I don't know.
Caleb: Go to the MOO-vies!!! HAHAHAHAHA

This was either a mule or a donkey.
Anyone know how to tell the difference??

Horse and Sheep. Micah was all over it with the "neigh" and "baa". He was a pro at it by the time we left.

Chickens. I didn't really answer any detailed questions about these chickens verses the things that appear on his plate in nugget form. I was very vague about the whole thing but I have a feeling Caleb is on to me.

It looks like they are cooperating, but they are probably fighting over a rock or something.

In the cart on the way to the strawberry fields. I'd like to get my hands on the jerk who stole our cart while we were picking!!

See...you tell me, is he eating a strawberry or not? No way to know.

Classic...two little boys running down a dirt road! Doesn't it look like we live in the country??

The big haystack. Caleb didn't want to climb to the top. He didn't think he could do it but he kept trying and eventually made it to the top. I was so proud of him.

Caleb's end of year picnic...

The school year went by so fast! Caleb had a great time in preschool and we're so excited that he'll be going back to the same wonderful school in a few weeks. He learned so much last year and had such wonderful people surrounding him there. Below are some pics of his end of year picnic.

Mrs. Gesslein...his teacher. She was SO amazing! I swear, I've never seen anyone with so much patience. She was everything you'd want in a teacher for your three year old!

Caleb and Mrs. Hessemer. She was his assistant teacher. She was also amazing. Together, these teachers created an environment where Caleb felt loved and secure. He never woke up in the morning and said he didn't want to go to school. He was always happy to go.

Caleb with Riley below. She's his first girlfriend. I was informed that he was going to marry Riley and Riley was going to marry him.

Caleb's school...

Caleb and his buddy Max hoola-hooping on the front steps...

All the kids got together on the front steps and sang some songs. That's Caleb, front and center with the sunglasses on, not singing a word. Not. One. Word.
