A Plea to Aunt Peaches (& Almost Uncle David, too)...

Dearest Aunt Peaches,
I'm not sure if you know this but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Chicken Dance. I love it SO much! It makes me so HAPPY! I dance my heart out to it every day at school and I was hoping that I could show you and Uncle David my moves. And my moves are awesome. You are going to be in awe of my chicken dance skills. I promise that if you play the song at your wedding, I'll Chicken Dance my little heart out!
So please, please, PLEASE don't ban my favorite song from your wedding.
Love and lots of big wet (germ-free) kisses,
Your Loving Nephew Caleb

When Caleb heard that Uncle Sean and Ruchey were coming over, he wanted to get all decked out in his b-ball gear to learn some moves from Uncle Sean.

Unfortunately, he's not that great at dunking and he's constantly getting called for traveling with the ball.

I took Caleb to the park by his daycare the other day. There is a big grassy area and he wants no part of it. Why run on the soft, grassy area when you can climb the cement stairs and give Mommy a heart attack every 5 seconds?

This is Caleb making off with someone else's toy. He has one almost exactly like it at home that he never plays with but for some reason, when it's someone else's toy, it's much more appealing. You can actually see the kid behind him chasing him. "Um, HELLO...I know you're adorable and all, but that doesn't give you a right to run off with my freakin' toy!!"

Last weekend, we got Caleb a piano. He really seems to like it. He plays like he's Jerry Lee Lewis...with everything but his hands. He especially likes to play with his feet. While standing on the keys. Which he climbs when Mommy and Daddy aren't looking.

Aahh...springtime at the park...

We took Caleb to the park this weekend. It was the first time this year that we could take him out without a jacket, mittens and a hat! When we put him in the stroller, he kept saying "jacket? mittens? hat??" The poor thing just didn't get it. He didn't seem to have a problem with it when we were in Florida, maybe because everything was different there. It seemed like he was afraid we were going to let him freeze! But once we got to the park, he got into the swing of things (ha ha) and had a great time...

He looks a little mad in this picture, don't you think? I'm not sure what he's yelling about because, hey, he's a toddler. He changes moods quicker than his pregnant mama...and that's pretty quick!!

In this one, we just got to the park. He likes to look around and take it all in before he dives in.

On the slide with Daddy.

He loves to climb back up the slide once he comes down. Poor thing, one day he's going to realize that we helped him up and that he can't defy gravity. Hopefully, that day is a ways off.

Crazy Hat Day

Today was Crazy Hat Day at Caleb's daycare. Mommy isn't very crafty so this is the best I could come up with. Daddy says it wasn't crazy enough, but I said that if it has googley eyes, then that automatically qualifies it as crazy.
What do you think??

Caleb's first haircut...at least by someone who has a clue what they are doing.

Since Caleb is going to have to look cute and presentable at Aunt Peaches and Uncle David's wedding this May, we thought we'd have a go at trying to neutralize that bald spot that Daddy cut into his hair so that it's almost gone by May 25th. So, we took Caleb for his first haircut...by a professional...who actually knows how to cut hair.

He was SO good. He was a little squirmy at first but we gave him a carrot and he calmed down. Next time, I'll think ahead because by the time he was done with the haircut, that carrot was covered in hair. YUCK! But he didn't seem to mind and we didn't dare take it away from him because he was being so good.

See for yourself...

Here is what his hair looked like when we started:

And this is him getting it cut:

In this one, you can see the cute little police car chair they use:

This is what Mommy sees...

This is a view I get a lot and I have to admit, it's one of my favorite things in the world...
