Christmas in the sun...

Caleb spent Christmas in Florida visiting Grandma, Aunt Peaches and Uncle David. We took him to the park on Christmas day and he had a great time playing in the grass.
Santa was still able to find Caleb in Florida (how does he do that???) so there were lots of cool presents for him under the tree!!

Santa had his hands full (of Cheerios)...

Caleb went to go see Santa at Short Hills mall this Saturday morning and the result is below. Let's just say that, at 14 months old, Santa is a concept that he just has not grasped. To Caleb, it was just a big man in loud pajamas who wanted to hold him while lights flashed in his eyes. We did what we could with peek-a-boo and Cheerios but the picture below is the best we could do. Santa is blinking and Caleb is stuffing his face but at least he doesn't look like he's having a meltdown!
Merry Christmas!! Hopefully, next year Caleb will get that he's got to suck up to this guy to rake in the Christmas gifts!!

Caleb's First Haircut

Caleb had his first haircut on his Daddy's birthday last Friday. He was so good and he looks like a stud!!
He is learning things like crazy lately! Just yesterday, he learned how to say "guitar" and "I love you". He has also learned how to say Elmo and Grover this week. His favorite words to say are ball (he says that one all the time), apple, hat and teeth. He's just amazing!

Happy Halloween!!

Caleb had a great Halloween yesterday, even if he didn't have any candy! Here are some pics of his costume. You can't get the full effect because, unless we strapped him in the stroller, he wouldn't stay still long enough for us to snap a photo. He just looks like a brown blur.
He's doing very well and learning things like crazy! He can say ball, cat, apple, teeth, mama and of course, dada (his favorite word). If you ask him where his head is, he can point to that but if you ask him about nose or teeth, he will only point them out on other people. However, if you say "tummy, tummy, tummy, tummy" he'll pat his big, round tummy like he just ate a whole Thanksgiving dinner and smile really big!!




And here's one of Caleb's girl, Ruby with her parents Sally and Nick. She is, as her Mummy calls her, a "cheeky little devil". But what a cutie, huh?? He's got good taste!!

Fall is in the air...

We're so proud of our little guy. He's learning things like crazy lately. We were so happy when Nana taught him that a cow says moo! Then, we started asking about other animals only to find out that dogs, cats and chickens also say moo. Who knew? But if a one year old says so, it must be true, right?

Caleb's Miami Buddy

Adan, Caleb's buddy from Miami, is going through a rough time right now. He's going to be in the hospital for a little while and we'd love it if all of you out there could send him your good thoughts and prayers.
We're sure Adan and his mom Carolina will come out of this just fine, but right now they need all the love they can get!

He's been taking steps here and there but now he's getting really good at it. Today you can really see his confidence in himself and his abilities improving. It's only a matter of time before he's running around and leaves crawling to the other babies!

BBLN Here We Come

Caleb is starting his new uber-expensive daycare on Wednesday. So, last night after the concert we went to go check it out. Man Alive, it's nice. They have more toys in their little pinky than his whole daycare now does! Anyway, I thought I'd share a quick video taken that shows you the view from his new daycare. Swank, huh? Can I go to daycare there, too??

Home Sick

You'd never know that Caleb came home sick from daycare today! I keep trying to get video of him standing himself up, but he never does it when I have the camera pointed at him! It's like he knows that's what I'm trying to do.
In this video, I managed to catch him standing for a minute but he quickly sits down. Also, God forbid this kid should utter a "mama". It's "dadada" all the time!!!

Good Morning, Daddy!!

I slept almost all night last night...until 5:30 this morning. Mom says I could sleep later, but I'm pretty proud of myself!
I miss you, Daddy. I hope you got some sleep last night because when you come home I'll make sure to wake up at 3am so we can play!

On Sunday, Caleb had his first boat ride from Delaware to New Jersey. He wanted to captain the boat but settled for dancing with Mom. Oh well...maybe next time.

Happy Birthday Mama

Today is 4-July-2007. This is significant, because, well you know why.

Because it's Marcy's birthday, of course! Most blogs are funny or analytical, or creative in some other way. That's a lot to live up to for stream of consciousness writing that very few people will ever read. A disclaimer: we may never get creative with the prose on this blog except when we're more sleep deprived than usual, and the creativity is really just the result of natural hallucination. The main purpose will be to host video and a few photos so our families far from us can see what's new, and watch the family age.

I mean grow, watch us grow.

Happy Birthday America, but more importantly, Happy Birthday Marcy!
